JBL’s PRX900 Series Portable Loudspeakers Will Make Your Next Family BBQ A Rocking Affair

The JBL PRX900 Series Powered Portable Speakers are a great solution for DJs, bands, music venues, rental facilities, and corporate A/V providers.

JBL PRX900 Series Loudspeakers on Stands

HARMAN Professional Solutions has announced the JBL PRX900 Series of portable loudspeakers and subwoofers. These speakers are targeted for use by DJs and bands as well as music venues, rental facilities, houses of worship, and corporate A/V providers

Tip: Although JBL refers to the PRX900 series as portable, they do need to be plugged into an AC power source to operate.

Designed for rugged indoor and outdoor use this product line features advanced acoustics, comprehensive DSP, enhanced power performance, and complete BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) control via the JBL Pro Connect app (iOS, Android).

JBL PRX900 Series Loudspeakers

The PRX900 Series includes three powered two-way loudspeakers (PRX908, PRX912, PRX915) and two powered subwoofers (PRX915XLF, PRX918XLF). JBL has built these products from the ground up to include several advanced acoustic innovations.

The PRX900 series include proprietary drivers powered by Class D amplifiers designed to maintain clarity and definition even at maximum volume, along with improved dispersion and beam width and smooth low-frequency extension.

Control

JBL PRX900 Series Controls

For controls, the PRX900 Series incorporates an onboard system with an LCD display on the rear panel of the speakers and subwoofers, as well as control access through the JBL Pro Connect app.

Sound control options include

  • 12-band parametric EQ for system tuning and nuanced tonal control.
  • Soft system limiter with Soundcraft Overeasy option and speaker delay settings and presets.
  • The JBL Pro Connect app can control up to 10 speakers and can integrate with JBL EON ONE MK2, PRX ONE, and EON700 systems, and access app-only functions including speaker snapshots and grouping.

Construction

The PRX900 Series incorporates rigid composite cabinet construction with computer-modeled ribbing to enhance acoustic performance and durability. In addition, the subwoofers are housed in 18mm birch cabinets with strong bracing for deep low-frequency response.

To put it simply, the PRX900 series speakers are ready for the road if needed. These speakers are a great solution for DJs, bands, music venues,  and temporary rented facilities.

From Brandon Knudsen, HARMAN Professional Product Manager, Portable PA Loudspeakers: “For years, our PRX800 Series loudspeakers have been first-call systems for bands, DJs, installers, and houses of worship in large part thanks to their acoustic profile, their low-end extension, and their volume…“With the PRX900 Series, we’re taking things to the next level with next-gen acoustic innovations and an even brawnier power package to deliver clean, clear sound at any volume. Systems take advantage of the latest BLE technology and the JBL Pro Connect app ecosystem, for unrivaled control.”
